Julia Tenthoff is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She graduated with honors from Duke University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. After college, she joined the Peace Corps as a Health Extension Volunteer in Guinea, West Africa where she focused on promoting maternal and child health & nutrition. She returned to pursue a second degree in nursing thereafter. Julie continued on to earn her Master's Degree in Pediatric Primary Care Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. During her graduate studies at Penn, she gained advanced practice nursing experience in both urban and suburban outpatient settings including Advocare Main Line Pediatrics, CHOP South Philadelphia Primary Care and CHOP's High Risk Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic.
Julie has over 10 years of experience working with newborns and their mothers as a postpartum nurse on a well mom and baby unit at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J. She loves to teach and support new mothers and their families through the first few hours and days of their infants' lives. She has been trained as a Certified Peer Lactation Counselor and enjoys being able to help newborns and their moms begin nursing successfully immediately from birth. Julie is the proud mother of three young children, and loves being with them and her husband when she is not at work.
